Observe wild elephants in their natural habitat at Kuiburi National Park. One of the best places in Thailand to see herds of elephants roaming free.
Afternoon pickup from your hotel or villa → drive south to Kui Buri National Park → arrive at the visitor centre (around 15:00) and transfer into an open 4WD with a local ranger, max five per vehicle → guided safari through the dry-evergreen forest until roughly 17:30, watching for wild elephants, gaur and birdlife at the park's grazing grounds → return drive.
Good to know: Kui Buri is open national park, not a zoo — its elephants (around 320 of them) roam completely wild. Sightings happen on roughly 95% of afternoon trips but can never be guaranteed; some herds pass close by, others graze in the distance. Either way there's plenty more to see — gaur, and birds like the Crested Fireback and Indian Roller.
