How to navigate Hua Hin and the surrounding area
Hua Hin stretches along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The main artery is Phetkasem Road (Highway 4), running roughly parallel to the coast. Most amenities, shopping malls, and restaurants sit along or just off this road. Hua Hin is located south of the main town area.
Side streets (soi) use odd numbers on the mountain side of Phetkasem Road and even numbers on the sea side. Higher numbers mean further south — Soi 88 and BluPort are south of centre, while the town centre is around Soi 51-57. When giving directions, use the nearest soi number.
The northern end of Hua Hin merges into Cha-am. The central area includes the historic railway station, night market, Chatsila market, and Market Village mall — the main commercial and entertainment district of the town.
Heading south you pass the hotel zone (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott), Khao Takiab hill, then on towards Pranburi and Sam Roi Yot National Park. Inland you will find Black Mountain Golf Club, True Arena, Wat Huay Mongkol, and pineapple plantations.
